The Best Anti-Wrinkle Program
Most of us don't want to contemplate cosmetic surgery or injections as a means of combating wrinkles. These methods are drastic, potentially dangerous and uncomfortable, and out of our financial reach.
Many of these methods result in an unnatural look - no frowns, startled looking eyes and a 'stretched' look to the skin. And the person's neck and hands give them away immediately.
Growing old gracefully doesn't mean you just sit back and let it happen however. There are some important non-invasive steps that everyone can take to fight wrinkles and other signs of aging - and they won't cost very much at all.
Dramatic advances have been made in nutritional science in the last few decades, and as a result several foods have been identified as 'anti aging'. The main reason for this is that they are rich in antioxidants, which fight the free radicals in our environment that destroy our cells. As we age our bodies do not replace destroyed cells as efficiently as when we were young.
Also, choosing a good skincare cream that is rich in the right antioxidants, will help stimulate your body to renew collagen cells. Be very careful when deciding on your anti-aging cream, because even if they contain antioxidants, these may not be the expensive ones that actually target the collagen producing cells.
Millions of free radicals are produced by cigarette smoke, so avoid being anywhere near a smoker will benefit your skin. As well, nicotine constricts blood flow, so just about every bodily organ of a smoker is being denied supplies of fresh, nutrient rich blood.
Using quality skincare products is very important. Quality however, does not relate directly to 'expensive'. All of the more famous cosmetic companies spend multi millions of dollars on advertising in glossy magazines and television every year. By spending a great deal of money on skincare products, you may in fact be paying for that advertising, rather than what is in the container.
So do some research. Find out whether product claims can be substantiated by independent clinical research, that they are backed by science.
Staying well hydrated will also help you maintain a healthy glow. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water every day, at least! When you know that our bodies are made up of 70% water, its easy to understand how we 'shrivel' if we don't receive an adequate supply.
Finally, don't rub and scrub your skin. If you use an exfoliant ensure that it is a gentle one, and remove all traces of makeup before retiring at night.
Eat well, stay active, drink lots of water, and use a quality skincare cream - these are the best ways of being kind to your skin.
